Can I start scuba diving training if I have never dived before in Curaçao?
Absolutely. If you are a complete beginner, you can directly enrol in your first internationally recognised certification course.
To ensure a calm learning environment, all training sessions are conducted as shore dives in shallow, sheltered areas where you can stand comfortably. This allows exercises to be completed at a relaxed pace with close instructor supervision.
If you are still unsure about committing to a full course, we recommend starting with one of our private introductory experiences, such as the historic exploration of the “Mini Wreck Explorer” or the unique turtle encounter with the “Turtle Spotter” experience.
SSI or PADI: which certification should you choose for international diving?
PADI and SSI are the two most widely recognised and respected diving training organisations in the world. The certification cards we issue allow you to dive anywhere globally.
The real difference is not the agency itself, but the flexibility of the teaching approach and the quality of private instruction. Learning in a private format allows for a more adaptable pace, closer supervision, and a reduced level of stress during skill acquisition.
Once certified with us, you can immediately access our private guided dives for certified divers in Curaçao, whether to take part in reef conservation through the “Coral Guardian” experience or to observe marine wildlife during the “Turtle Tracker” excursion.
Why do you prioritise private shore-based training instead of boat-based courses?
In Curaçao, many of the most beautiful reefs and coral drop-offs are directly accessible from shore. Training from the beach removes issues such as seasickness, boat motion, and the fixed schedules of group boats.
This setup provides a controlled learning environment, which is particularly useful for developing buoyancy control.
Once you are certified Advanced Open Water, you gain the technical comfort needed to explore deeper or more demanding sites, such as a wreck dive experience or a night biofluorescence dive (“Hidden Glow Show”).
How much time should you plan in Curaçao to complete the Open Water certification?
The duration is generally around 3 half-days to complete an Open Water Diver course. However, our private, tailor-made logistics are fully adapted to your holiday schedule, with only one session per day to ensure fully dedicated instruction and support.
If you already hold your first certification and want to expand your skills, you can complete an Advanced Adventurer-level course with us in about 2 to 3 days. This progression also allows you to access more technical experiences, including lionfish control during our “Predator Patrol” expedition.
