FAQ for Scuba Diving in Curaçao 100% private
for Certified Divers
Would you like to know more about how our private explorations are organised, managing successive dives or our citizen science missions? Check out our FAQ for certified divers and prepare your tailor-made dives in Curaçao.
What certification levels and qualifications are required for your different diving expeditions in Curaçao?
Requirements depend on the technical level and depth of the selected dive. If you hold an Open Water certification (or equivalent), you can join the “Turtle Tracker” or “Coral Guardian” experiences. For more technical expeditions such as lionfish control (Predator Patrol), wreck explorer, or our night biofluorescence dive (Hidden Light Show), an Advanced Open Water certification (or equivalent validated experience) is required to ensure your safety and comfort.
What makes your private guided dives different from a dive package or a large dive club outing?
Choosing The Little Green Boat’s private format removes the typical constraints of large group operations. You are not bound by a mixed group pace, short bottom times, or reduced visibility caused by other divers.
We plan your dive itinerary together based on your interests, whether photography, marine biology, or wreck exploration. Only one session is run per day, so time is not restricted, air management is optimised, and you benefit from a fully dedicated French- or English-speaking guide for your group.
What types of wrecks and exclusive underwater sites do you offer to explore?
Curaçao is full of striking reef formations and a remarkable wreck. Depending on weather conditions and your certification level, we can organise shore dives.
Whether it is gliding over iconic underwater structures, exploring natural feeding areas during our “Turtle Tracker” experience, or descending along biodiverse drop-offs, each site is selected for its ecological or historical value, away from crowded tourist routes.
How do you integrate citizen science and eco-responsibility into these dives?
For certified divers, our expeditions take on a different dimension through a blue and sustainable tourism approach.
During the “Predator Patrol” dive, you actively contribute to lionfish control, an invasive species that threatens local reef ecosystems. On coral-focused dives, we share marine biology knowledge and apply non-intrusive observation protocols.
We follow a strict no-feeding policy and ensure full respect for marine ecosystems at all times. In this context, your diving certification becomes a practical tool for ocean conservation and environmental protection.
