FAQ
I’ve never been on a boat before. Can I still take part?
This trip is best suited for those with some experience at sea or in sailing. Part of the route takes you outside the lagoon, where the waters can be rougher. If you’re looking for a gentler, more accessible experience, we recommend Secrets of the Lagoon, designed especially for beginners.
Are private sailing charters suitable for families with children?
Yes, but it’s best if children are already comfortable at sea. Sailing outside the lagoon can sometimes be more lively, which may not be ideal for children who aren’t used to these conditions.
Will we be sailing under full sails?
Yes, that’s actually the main focus of this trip. After a short motor ride through the lagoon to leave Spanish Water, we raise the sails as soon as conditions allow. With the trade winds often strong in Curaçao, we usually sail under just the genoa, as the wind provides plenty of power.
Can we tailor the cruise to your preferences?
Not exactly. The route depends largely on the wind direction. We plan the sailing to make the most of the trade winds along the coast, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience under sail. Going the other way, the wind would be head-on, and the trip would rely mostly on the motor.
